Speed District is a motorsports event operator based in Southern California. We run high-performance driver education track days, rallies, and related events, and we operate speeddistrict.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect
When you register for an event we collect your name, email address, mobile number, postal address, date of birth, driving experience level, vehicle make and model, and an emergency contact name and number. Date of birth and emergency contact exist because this is a motorsport activity and the venue requires them.
When you pay, your card details go directly to our payment processor. Speed District never receives or stores your full card number.
When you use the site, we collect standard analytics: pages viewed, referring site, approximate location, device and browser. We use Google Analytics for this.
At events, our photographers and videographers capture images and footage of cars and participants on track and in the paddock. We publish this to our website and social channels. If you would rather not appear, tell us at registration or email us afterwards and we will remove you.
Why we collect it
To register you for events and get you on track, to contact you about an event you have signed up for, to meet the safety and insurance requirements of the venues we run at, to take payment, and — only if you have opted in — to tell you about upcoming events.
Text messages and mobile information
If you tick the SMS consent box on our registration form, we will text you about our track events: schedule information, schedule changes, last-minute openings, and event reminders. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to be removed, or HELP for help.
Ticking that box is optional and is never a condition of registering for an event or of any purchase.
We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS consent with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is used only to deliver the messages described above, and is handled only by Speed District and the messaging provider that sends on our behalf. No mobile opt-in data is shared with anyone else under any circumstances.

Who we share information with
We share the minimum necessary with: the raceway hosting an event, where the venue requires an entry list or waiver record; our payment processor; our email provider; our SMS provider; and our website host. Each of these handles data on our instructions only.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Registration and waiver records are kept for as long as we may need them for insurance and liability purposes. Marketing contact details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Analytics data is retained according to Google Analytics settings.
Your rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it for marketing. California residents have these rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them — and since we do not sell personal information, there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

Cookies
Our site uses cookies to keep your registration cart working, to remember preferences, and for analytics. You can configure your browser to reject cookies, though the registration cart may not work properly if you do.
Children
Our events are for adults and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
